WINNING BIG: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUELS NORTHERN NEVADA GROWTH

After going through the toughest recession in its history, Northern Nevada has seen its fair share of economic development victories in the years that followed. Here’s a list of some of the major economic development wins that the region has seen.

Zulily is looking to hire 40 warehouse associates to work weekends at its Reno-area facility.

The online retailer will hold a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Zulily Nevada Fulfillment Center on 3200 USA Parkway at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center 12 miles east of Reno-Sparks.

The jobs will start at $13 per hour. The permanent positions involve part-time work from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at its fulfillment center.

“Part-time Warehouse Associate positions have the potential to lead to full-time positions in the future, if an employee is in good standing after 6-months of work,” said Sean Salyer, General Manager of Zulily’s Nevada Fulfillment Center.

The work entails processing arrivals, putting away products and picking and packing customer orders at the 707,000-square-foot facility. Inventory work is part of the job as well.

Candidates must have a high school education or GED. Applicants also must bring ID and have a pre-employment drug test and background check. Zulily will be providing tours of the facility during the hiring event. To apply for a job visit: www.zulily.com/careers.

Zulily employs more than 3,000 workers globally. It also has more than 2.2 million square feet of capacity at its three fulfillment centers in Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania, according to Bob Spieth, senior vice president and chief operating officer.
